We offer canoe rentals and kayak rentals for a fun-filled Lake Whitney Dam float trip to our location just over 8 miles downriver. We can also deliver boats to nearby lakes for group events.

Pick up your boat at Dick's, or use the shuttle to the put-in below Lake Whitney Dam. Spend the day paddling, exploring, swimming, fishing, and relaxing as you make your way downstream.
Brazos River canoe and kayak rentals
Canoe and kayak rental for a day trip from Lake Whitney Dam to Dick's Place. This is an 8.4 mile Brazos River trip with a typical 5 to 6 hour duration.
Prices include tax. Rental includes 2 life vests, 2 paddles, and kayaks shuttled to the dam. Flat $50 shuttle fee applies for groups with less than four kayaks.
Reservations are required during business hours. All rental fees are due prior to receipt of canoes and equipment. Boaters are fully responsible for any loss, damage, excessive wear, or missing equipment incurred during the rental period and may be charged for repair or replacement costs as determined by management.
Cancellations 15 or more days before pickup receive a full refund or rescheduling. Cancellations 14 to 7 days before pickup receive a 50% refund or rain check. No refunds or rain checks are issued less than 7 days before pickup.

Founder
June 20, 1930 - June 3, 2003
Our founder Dick Weinkauf tragically died in a tractor accident on June 3, 2003. Dick was truly a gentle man with a passion for the protection of all fresh waters.
As an environmentalist, he had a genuine love of rivers and fresh waters and spent much of his time crusading for clean water protection, nurturing these waters for future generations.
